Compliance & Corporations

Compliance with South Africa's Companies Act and policies can deliver measurable returns while non-compliance can attract penalties or worse. We assist qualifying clients to register as small business corporations in order to take advantage of the considerable reductions in tax rates available to such firms.

Registering a company

There are no “short cuts” to registering a business in SA. Particularly cost effective registration offers will – almost without exception – require expensive and laborious corrective action and may result in non-compliance. Protect your business from opportunists by interrogating “special” company registration offers carefully. Answers to some of the following questions may prove helpful in assisting your selection process

  • Will you be issued with a company name or simply a number (which will simply require your changing the number to your company name in a complicated process after the fact)?
  • Have you been offered any value adding advice, for example regarding the selection of the dates of your financial year?

LouwCooperRasool's practitioners draw on years of experience when guiding registration-related decisions. We are familiar with all legislation (and pending legislation), up to date with SARS's changing systems and we process registrations effectively the first time. Ours is a cost effective service that delivers peace of mind. It includes:

  • New company registrations with the Companies and Intellectual Properties Commission (CIPC), previously CIPRO

  • Amendments with CIPC (to current close corporations and companies)

  • Company income tax registrations and VAT registrations

  • PAYE, UIF and Skills Development Levy (SDL) applications

  • Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) compensation and annual submissions

  • All B-BBEE/BEE applications
